Honorable. Judge Kenya Johnson

Chief Judge of the Probate Court of Fulton County

Hon. Kenya M. Johnson currently serves as the elected Chief Judge of the Probate Court of Fulton County.  Formerly a career Prosecutor, she focused on restorative justice initiatives, youth violence prevention and improving community & police relations.   As the Chief Probate Judge in Georgia’s largest county, Judge Johnson’s mission is to educate communities about estate planning and generational wealth. In just her first 2 years in office, Judge Kenya partnered with community groups to offer wills clinics to over 185 citizens, offered presentations on estate planning, married over 500 couples in free wedding ceremonies and brought probate services into communities in need. In December, 2023 she was awarded ‘Probate Judge of the Year’ by the Georgia Association of Black County Officials and she is actively is working to restore and preserve ‘slave wills’ she recently found in her records room from 1847. You can often find Judge Johnson serving on the bench, hitting on the tennis court or as a frequent Legal Contributor on CNN and Court TV.
